Suitcases for Cuba

The Cuban Mission Team will be collected items to take to our sister church in La Carlota, Cuba at the end of March. There will be suitcases at the back of the sanctuary and River of Life until Sunday March 21st. The following items are needed; scissors, glue sticks, construction paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils, pain relievers, cough syrups, fever reducers and vitamins. Thanks!

Bishop Hopkins urges prayers and support for the people of Haiti:

We will be taking up collections for Haiti during our regular collection time.  Please put your offering for Haiti in an envelope and mark it for Haiti or mark your regular giving envelope the amount you wish to go to Haiti.  We will do this for several Sundays.

OPEN BASKETBALL

Open Gym for Basketball will begin on October 6^th on Tuesday nights from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

HEBREWS COFFEEHOUSE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need additional people willing to volunteer with the Hebrew Coffeehouse so that we can offer hours during special events and other opportunities for fellowship. Please sign up in the black book.  Contact Becky Overholser for more information

YOUTH  SEEKING SPONSORS for COPS & MISSIONS

Sponsors are needed for COPS. This ministry requires a lot of resources, especially financial. The students are also planning a trip to Cuba in the summer of 2010. Any support for these youth mission opportunities would be a blessing. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity to serve God.

DINING IN CHRIST’S KITCHEN TIME CHANGE

The hours of serving meals on Mondays at Dick’s Place are from 4:00 p.m.  – 6:00 p.m.

GIVING STATEMENTS

A record of your giving to the church for the first half of the year is in a sealed envelope in a box at the back of the sanctuary for the first service and on the table where you enter the ROLCC at the hall from the church.  Please pick up your statement.

Journey's End Ministry (740-498-5772)

Journey's End Ministry is in need of the following:
Clothes Closet:  Men's jeans, Men’s & Boy’s socks, Bath towels, Children's Clothing, gloves & hats for adults & children

Food Pantry: Fruits, peanut butter, spaghetti & sauce & Plastic grocery bags, canned soups & canned fruits and vegetables.

Journeys End Ministries would like to thank you for your support for JEM.  They have been blessed with loyal volunteers, abundant donations, and a well stocked food pantry that continues to meet the ever growing need of their clients.  Clients have been added on at a steady basis and in the first three months of 2007, 1,379 people were fed from the pantry, which is an increase of 352 from last year.

While donations have been strong in food and clothing areas, there are still needs they have on a regular basis that they would like to make you aware of.  They are listed in order of importance:

1. Diapers: Constantly in need of size 4,5,6

2. Underwear: socks for all sizes , preferably white, underwear all sizes

3. Toiletries: toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar soap, shampoo, toilet paper

4. Jeans: men’s jeans in all sizes

5. House items: dishes, glasses ,flatware, knives, pots & pans

Thank you again for your prayers and financial and material donations.  With God’s guidance we will continue to be good stewards of all God’s blessings
